FeeCost

The fee recommended by the Australian Psychological Society is $196.00. My fee is $150.00 per hour session. Payment by cash or cheque is required at the end of each session.

Medicare Rebate of $115.05

Cancellation Policy: If for some reason you need to cancel, 24 hours notice is required, otherwise a cancellation fee of $120.00 is charged and must be paid before any subsequent sessions are made

Fiona Millar has worked in psychology since 1995, and has successfully completed a Masters Degree at Bond University. As a clinical psychologist she has worked with a diverse range of clientele, with many different issues. Her primary areas have been depression, anxiety and stress management. She has also worked with clients with drug and alcohol addictions, pain management and relationship issues. Fiona has experience from working for 5 years full time in a psychiatric clinic on the Gold Coast as well as working at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and QEll Hospital. She is now doing private practice in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast.

Her research has been in the areas of problem gambling and eating disorders. She has also worked with clients with personality disorders, sleep and eating issues, stress management, anger management, relationship difficulties, childhood sexual abuse, neglect and pain management. Fiona has also worked with children, families and sex offenders.

Fiona has proven ability with various assessment procedures, training and job selection. She is proficient in psychological testing and has had experience with a number of testing procedures. She also has a vast knowledge of commonly used medications and their side effects. She also has a certificate in CBT and a Certificate 4 in Assessment and Training.

Fiona has the following educational qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from Bond University
  • Master of Business Administration from Bond University

Fiona is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society, and is fully registered as a psychologist in Queensland. Fiona is also a member of the APS Clinical College. She is registered with Workcover Queensland, and is experienced in work difficulties and recovery from work injuries, and is registered with Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). Fiona is also registered with Medicare as a Category 1 clinical psychology provider, which entitles patients to the highest available rebate.
She is also supervising Masters students as a clinical supervisor for Bond University. Fiona's personal interests include traveling, cooking and animal welfare. She also has a hotel management background and has worked in a management capacity before studying psychology. Fiona's other interests are meditation and Iyengar Yoga.

You will need to ring your private health fund to check, most funds offer a rebate.

If you have a referral from a Doctor or Psychiatrist and they have done a GP Mental Health Care Plan (approx: 15mins) with you. You are eligible for a Medicare rebate of $115.05

The Medicare referral system allows you up to 12 sessions per year, you must go back to your referring GP after 6 sessions for a review, which will enable you to a further 6 sessions if your GP requires.
